More than just photographs, I capture a limited number of weddings per year and try to only photograph one wedding per weekend to focus on learning about each and every one of my clients and providing a unique experience for you from start to finish.
Getting to Know Each Other
Our journey together starts with a Skype, FaceTime, or in person consultation. I want to learn about you and your fiancé as people, not just clients. How you met, the things you both enjoy doing - your story up until now!
Once the contract is signed and the deposit is paid, I will mail you my welcome packet. In it you'll find some helpful hints and tips as well as my getting to know you questionnaire, which helps me further customize the way I approach your wedding.
Here to Help
As we get closer to the wedding day, I will send you information to help build a fun and stress free wedding timeline. I will also request more specific details, such as locations, times and family formal requests.
We will then FaceTime or Skype a month or so before the wedding to review the details, putting the final touches on the timeline. This will ensure we can focus on having fun on the day you've worked so hard to plan for!
The Wedding Day
Weddings are exciting and shouldn't be stressful. I like to have fun and prefer photographs that have an artistic, candid feel to them rather than overly posed. I will make sure that you, your family and friends get incredible photographs while still having a great time together!
I cull and edit every photograph I take and deliver the images within 60 days of your wedding date. All of my packages contain a custom USB drive with high resolution digital files, fine art prints presented in a handcrafted wooden box and an online gallery to share with family and friends.
I also offer a beautiful 10x10 leather bound wedding album that is included in my higher tier wedding packages with a variety of different cover options.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What kind of photography do you offer and what is your style?
I am a fine art wedding photographer, using both digital and film cameras to create timeless and artistic photographs with a unique stylistic appeal. I love to have fun with your family and friends on your wedding and will use that to draw out genuine, candid expressions while taking photographs, but am not afraid to step in and give some guidance to get the best looking images possible.
What sets you apart from other wedding photographers?
I strive to be more like a friend at your wedding than just another vendor. Most people don't realize that often you'll spend a similar amount of time with your wedding photographer on your wedding day as you will with your own family! Their personality can have a huge impact on the overall energy and flow of the wedding. Because of this, I accept a limited number of weddings each year and try to only photograph one wedding a weekend to really focus on learning about you, your story and making sure we use that to have a great time and get great images in the process!
Why do you use film in addition to digital photography?
I love digital photography and everything it offers, but there is a true timelessness to photographing with film that is impossible to replicate with digital. A photograph shot with medium format film has an organic, three dimensional, almost painterly quality to it. Being a hybrid photographer (that is, one that will photograph with digital cameras and film cameras) gives me the best of both worlds - the immediacy and advantages of using digital along with the beauty and timelessness of film.
Do you have liability insurance?
Yes. My studio and photography gear are fully insured. If your venue requires proof of liability insurance, let me know and I would be happy to provide it for them!
A lot of the images on your website were taken outdoors. Can you photograph indoors as well?
Yes of course! Although I prefer the look of natural light for weddings, I frequently will bring out my flashes and external lights during receptions and am not afraid to use them when the situation calls for it.
Do you travel for weddings?
Absolutely! I am currently based in New York but am willing to travel all over the world, especially for a wedding! Send me an email for more information regarding destination pricing.
Do you photograph with a second photographer?
I will usually bring an assistant to help me with lighting and other tasks, however I find that a second photographer is generally unnecessary unless you have more than 200 guests attending your wedding. I do offer it as an add on option, however and we can discuss it more during our consultation!
How many photographs do you deliver?
For an 8 hour wedding, I usually deliver anywhere from 400-600 photographs. This number may vary depending on things like travel times, hours hired, and other wedding day timeline events. On every photograph I adjust exposure, contrast, color, crop and more to align with my artistic vision.
How can we find out about rates and availability?
Because I prefer to really get to know each and every client I work with, I only accept a limited number of weddings each year and try to only photograph one wedding each weekend. To reserve a wedding date, I require a signed contract with a 1/3 retainer fee. Wedding packages begin at $2,900 and include a minimum 8 hours of coverage, a personalized online gallery to view and share your photographs, and high resolution digital files with printing rights. Send me an email and I can give you a more comprehensive pricing guide!
How long does it take to receive my photographs?
I cull through and edit every photograph I take to ensure each image lives up to my brand standards. However, I also don't like to make people wait if I can help it! All photographs will be delivered within 60 days, with a typical turnaround time of no more than four weeks.
