Acadia National Park is the closest National Park to where I live (which is still a nine hour drive!). With beautiful, breathtaking coastline, The park in Maine reminds me very much of the coastlines of California.
I visited the park late in the season, and as such it was empty. It was as if we had the entire park to ourselves - hours would go by without us seeing another person. It was cold and cloudy while we were there, providing a strong contrast to the other crowded parks I have visited. I loved every minute of it though - the quiet, cloudy coastline gave me a fresh perspective to photograph.
One more down on my mission to visit all of the National Parks!
